After being favourite in MotoGP World Championship

last weekend in Le Mans (France), DARK DOG rider Jules Cluzel leaves the track with mixed feelings

Le Mans, France: The third race of the famous MotoGP World Championship took place last weekend in France and Frenchman Jules Cluzel from the Forward Racing Team started the Moto2 class exactly as he would have planned: he set the fastest lap of the practice session on Friday with the clear aim to win his first GP race of his career on the familiar territory of home soil.

Also Claudio Corti, Jules teammate, started the weekend positively. The Italian rider, who faced the Le Mans circuit for the first time, used the opening hour of the weekend basically to familiarize with the track and to collect important information to improve the set-up of the bike for qualifying.

The positive trend of the Forward Racing Team also continued last Saturday: the 21 year old French rider from Montluçon qualified fourth in front of his fans and became one of the favourites for the important race day as he was determined to start from the front row of the grid.

Place 13 of Claudio Corti was also very promising. The Italian rider was able to adapt his riding style quickly to the unknown track, improving constantly lap by lap and concluding the qualifying with a gap of just half second from the pole setter. On Sunday, DARK DOG rider Jules Cluzel made a sensational start from the first row of the grid climbing up the top of the race until lap 7. Unfortunately, he crashed out during this lap and was unable to continue the race due to a small mistake when opening the gas on the exit of the corner! Not only for the young rider and the Forward Racing Team it was a cruel wake-up but also for the entire French audience hoping in a local winner.

Jules team mate Claudio Corti fought tooth and nail during the Sunday race, was able to finish it with a 15th position and collected one point for the championship.

Although the race of the Moto2 class in France did not turn out as it was expected, both riders and the Forward Racing Team are looking positively into the future aiming to get better results in the upcoming race in only two weeks in Mugello, Italy!

Jules Cluzel

DNF
"I'm very disappointed, for sure I didn't imagine finishing the race in this way. I tried to push, to create a gap between me and Elias, but when I opened the gas at the exit of the corner, I crashed. Honestly I lost a great occasion because my bike was perfect. I hope in Mugello it would be better."

Claudio Corti

15th position
"I cannot say that I'm satisfied, even if I earned my first point in the world championship. During the first part of the race I had some difficulties; I was not able to push as I would have wanted. Later towards the end of the race I got faster. Anyway, I look forward to the race in Mugello with the desire to end up within the top 10."
