After pole position row,

DARK DOG rider Cluzel had to face a difficult race last Sunday

Mugello, Italy: The fourth round of the famous MotoGP World Championship took place last weekend at one of Team Forward Racing´s home Grand Prix: the historical track of Ferrari. The race weekend started very promising for Team Forward Racing with a front row position of DARK DOG rider Jules Cluzel for the Sunday race. But unfortunately, both riders had to face a difficult race day with Jules crashing out due to a crash and Claudio Corti ending up in 22nd position. The technical staff of Team Forward Racing worked hard to be as prepared as possible for the Sunday battle. One of the basic preparations had been the test of Albacete (Spain) in May. During this test the team developed several strategies to set up the bike and to be ready for the competition in Italy!

During the first day on track the best Forward Racing rider was Jules Cluzel who ended up in sixth position with a gap of only 0,767 seconds to the fastest rider.

The next day's qualifying session finished with an excellent result for Forward Racing with Jules Cluzel competitive and efficient ending up on the top of the timesheet and a fantastic first row on the grid for the Sunday race. The DARK DOG rider - targeting at the pole position - attacked his competitors from the start to the end. Due to a technical problem which forced him to stay in the box for about 20 minutes, he missed the pole position. But the French rider fought tooth and nail and was able to gain a fantastic position in the front row of the grid that made the team confident for the race day. Despite the 22nd time registered during the qualifying, the team was also satisfied with the work done by Claudio Corti on the Tuscan track as the Italian rider was able to improve continuously his references.

Unfortunately, the race at the Mugello track turned out to be a difficult one for the Forward Racing Team: after the excellent qualifying of Jules Cluzel, the battle of Moto2 did not gave the satisfaction to the team which it deserved, with Cluzel crashing out (fortunately without injuries) and Corti ending up in 22nd position.

After a very good start, Jules Cluzel was leading the group and fighting with two riders when his race suddenly ended during the fifth lap seeing him as a victim of a crash.

It was also a difficult race for Jules team mate Claudio Corti. After a fantastic start from the middle of the grid Claudio struggled with a lot of riders, having some contacts with adversaries and therefore lost important positions what it made impossible for him to reach some points.

Although the race in Italy did not turn out as expected, DARK DOG and Team Forward Racing are looking positively into the future and are hoping to gain some important points during the next race in Silverstone, UK!

Jules Cluzel

DNF
"I am really unhappy about how the race finished. After Le Mans, I wanted to score important points for the team and the world championship standing, but it was over after a few laps. This time I lost the grip on the rear and right now I cannot understand why. I hope to do well at Silverstone, which will be a new track for everybody."

Claudio Corti

22nd position
"I tried to start well and I got it. Unfortunately I was in the middle of many riders and I had to defend myself from their attacks, having some direct contacts with them. I am not satisfied, I wanted to do well here at Mugello but at the end I finished with 0 points, it's a pity."
