Assen, Netherlands: Assen, Netherlands: The MotoGP World Championship has moved from Great Britain to the Netherlands and the excellent performance of the Forward Racing Team continues. The DARK DOG riders ended up on the top of the time sheet - in 5th and 6th positions - during the debut on the historical circuit of Assen. During the opening practice the team tried to collect as much information as possible to work out the right way to adapt the excellent set-up found in Silverstone for the Dutch track which is celebrating its 80th birthday. The session ended for Cluzel with disappointment - crashing out due to some technical problems fortunately without any consequences for the French rider.
The DARK DOG riders knew that it would not be easy to repeat the last weekend in Silverstone but were ready to give their best. The qualifying session was characterized by numerous crashes but ended for the Forward Racing Team within the top ten. Claudio Corti, who was able to show that the performance of Silverstone was not casual but the result of constant work, and his teammate Jules Cluzel, who crashed out at 230km/h while experiencing some problems with the front tyre, finished in a presentable 9th and 10th position guaranteeing a good start between the fastest from the third row on the grid.
As expected from the whole team the race was not a simple one. Even though the DARK DOG riders were fast during the practice, they knew that they have to fight during the race, but unfortunately the bikes were not good enough to end up on the podium at this track. Jules Cluzel was struggling for the 4th place with his rivals Luthi, Simon and Tomizawa but finally ended up on 7th place, earning nine important points which ensures him the 6th place in the world championship standing. His teammate Claudio Corti was suffering a contact with Takahashi which made him lose several positions, forcing him to battle in the centre group, he finally finished as 17th.
The Forward Racing Team is going to try to be between the pace setters for the whole weekend for the upcoming race in Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia in Spain, next weekend. DARK DOG wishes good luck and MORE ENERGY on the way to the podium!
